Line interfaces: Equipment scope
List upstream blank punching or fan feeding, the inner-cup forming turret, sleeve-forming or wrapping, joining method, leak inspection, counting/stacking and any downstream packer. Ask which of those units share one PLC interface and which are stand-alone. Work envelope between stations, conveyor height and footprint around discharge must be measured on the buyer’s floor, not inferred from a catalog photo. Connected load and compressed air demand should be summed across stations that will run together.
Price exclusions
Sleeve tooling, extra size sets, leak testers, counting units and packing machines are frequent extras. A double-wall requirement does not automatically include sleeve-forming. Shipping, installation, cooling water for heat-seal heads and spare parts should be listed separately. Industry dispute to keep open: machine price versus installed project cost — tooling, freight and site work can exceed the forming-station line item.
